A honeycomb is the most efficient way to fill a flat plane. Hexagons pack tight, share every wall and waste nothing. They cannot curve on their own though, so to close the grid into a dome a few pentagons slip in among them and pull the flat sheet into the round.

The Hivey Hole is a honeycomb you step inside. By day it is a quiet lattice. After dark every cell wakes and the structure becomes the light. From across a dark field it reads as one glowing form, and from within it wraps around you on every face.

Nothing is projected at you and there is no screen. The light has nowhere to hide because it lives in the walls. You do not really look at the piece, you stand inside it.
